Story Behind the Shot

One of the secrets I have found when looking for the best possible shot is to seek out and become friends with the lighting and stage crew. Having photographed Beyonce’ on numerous occasions throughout the country and getting a good read on the outfits she would be wearing, I wanted to go for a different style, a different groove.
Enter her lighting director who filled me in on the exact moments and lighting changes I would need to capture what I had envisioned in my head. It reminds me of a 70’s era Disco type vibe, something Donna Summer or Diana Ross would have chosen for their album cover. Shot at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. it is hands down one of my favorite photographs of all time.
